This peace sign symbol was originally intended for the Campaign for
Nuclear Disarmament ---especially the British Nuclear Disarmament---but became
widely known to date.
The peace sign was derived using
"semaphores" and made its debut during Aldermaston march in 1958 in
protest against British nuclear weapons.
Although, many claimed that the inverted
"V" had various and eerie interpretations for some people then.
Presently, it remains one of the most popular peace sign symbols.
