Originally , the Beatles was a group of five lads comprised of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stu Sutcliffe (bass), and Pete Best (drummer). The mop-top haircut trademark of the Beatles was first introduced to Stu Sutcliffe, the former Beatle, by photographer Astrid Kircherr. A
recording magnate and local businessman, Brian Epstein was one of the
instruments for their success. One lunch time in Cavern, Epstein offered to be
the group's manager. The Group acceded to Epstein’s offer. Now, as the Beatles
manager, Brian Epstein trashed the traditional rugged-looking appearance of the
group. Instead of wearing traditional leather clothing, the Beatles were
instructed to wear suits by Epstein. He managed all their gigs and skeds. Their
initial audition as recording artists was declined at Decca. However, due to
Epstein's persistence to get a recording contract, the Beatles finally found an
opportunity from George Martin (Parlophone). Allegedly, Epstein was involved
of buying bulk (10,000) copies of the Beatles first hit: "Love Me Do"
to get the band into the chart.
